Statuses

Every status a process run, a node, a trigger run and an agent can be in, in one place. Running and monitoring explains what to do about them.

Some lists and filters still show a status by its internal name, such as RunningWithError or WaitingForAgent. The internal name is given here as well, so you can find it.

Process runs

StatusInternal nameMeaning
ScheduledScheduledWaiting for the time it was given to start. It runs the version that was current when it was scheduled. See Scheduled runs.
TodoTodoStarted, and about to run its start event.
RunningRunningRunning its nodes.
Waiting for a formWaitingForFormEvery node it could go on with waits, and at least one of them waits for someone to fill in a form. See My Tasks.
Waiting for an agentWaitingForAgentEvery node it could go on with waits for an agent. See Waiting for an agent.
Running with errorsRunningWithErrorA node failed, but other nodes still run, wait or are about to: another branch, or the next rounds of a loop. It stays Running with errors while those wait, too.
SucceededSucceededReached an end event without a failure. Final.
FailedFailedStopped by a failure: every node it was on failed, or it reached its end while Running with errors (One or more branches failed). Not final: it can be retried, or aborted.
AbortedAbortedStopped for good, by hand. Final: it can't be retried.

Only Succeeded and Aborted are final. A succeeded run can't be retried or aborted, and an aborted one can't be retried. A failed run stays failed until someone retries it or aborts it: see When a run fails.

Nodes

The status of one node of a run, as the run's Logs tab lists it and the Process tab colours it. A node in a loop has a status for each round, and a retried node one for each attempt.

StatusInternal nameBorder on the diagramMeaning
TodoTodoNoneThe run has reached the node, and is about to run it.
Waiting for an agentWaitingForAgentYellowAn activity that waits for an agent that is connected, free, and meets its demands.
QueuedQueuedLight blueAn activity that was handed to an agent, which hasn't started it yet.
RunningStartedDark blueRunning: in Spider, or on an agent.
WaitingWaitingYellowA Form activity that has handed out its form, and waits for someone to fill it in. See User tasks.
SucceededSucceededGreenDone. Its outputs are in their variables.
FailedFailedRedFailed, or was cancelled with Cancel node (Node cancelled by user). Its log says why.

There is no cancelled status: a cancelled node is Failed, and a cancelled round of a loop too. A node that Retry from here took back keeps the status it had, but is shown dimmed, and no longer counts.

Trigger runs

StatusInternal nameMeaning
TodoTodoMade, and about to run.
RunningRunningRunning its activity.
Waiting for an agentWaitingForAgentWaiting for an agent that can run its activity. Only a trigger from an integration module runs on an agent.
SucceededSucceededFinished, and started what it had to start. Final.
FailedFailedStopped because its activity failed. Not final: a trigger from an integration module can retry its activity, and any failed trigger run can be aborted.
AbortedAbortedStopped for good, by hand. Final.

See Trigger run.

Agents

StatusInternal nameMeaning
DisconnectedDisconnectedNot connected to Spider.
ConnectedConnectedConnected, but not registered yet.
IdleIdleRegistered, and free to take work.
WaitingWaitingChosen for an activity, which is on its way.
QueuedQueuedThe activity was sent, but hasn't started.
RunningRunningRunning an activity.

A status in red means the agent is in maintenance, whatever the status: it takes no new work until someone takes it out again. See Maintenance.
